only people who have something to hide take their phone to the bog

SerendipitousHarlot · 18/08/2009 13:49

I only took my phone to the loo with me when I was texting somebody I shouldn't have been

beanieb · 18/08/2009 13:54

"only people who have something to hide take their phone to the bog " rubbish. You can't say 'every person who takes their phone to the loo has something to hide'. I sometimest take my phone to the loo.

Yes if someone takes their phone to the loo all the time for no reason other than the fact that they never ever leave the phone out of their sight then perhaps it's something to be suspicious of but that doesn't mean everyone who takes their phone to the loo is hiding something!

HolyGuacamole · 18/08/2009 16:01

Yep, agree. I'd never take my phone into the loo and if I was expecting a call, I'd leave it around and ask DH to answer it if it rings.

Only people who have something to hide keep their phones glued to their sides.

I always take my phone to the loo. In my defence, it is an Iphone and I play solitaire on it -a-- lot

look, you guys who take your phone everywhere...

my comment was made in the context of someone who is also acting in an otherwise dodgy fashion

goodness me, some of you ladies take stuff very literally (and a little too seriously)

HolyGuacamole · 18/08/2009 17:18

PMSL AF

beanieb · 18/08/2009 17:28

"only people who have something to hide take their phone to the bog "

stop being so literal and maybe us crazy people will get it

maybe we all have aspergers. I have noticed lately on mumsnet that Aspergers seems to be used a lot to explain people's weird behaviour, I was going to start a thread about it but may as well put it in here

melmog · 18/08/2009 17:34

Oooh, I don't know. That makes me feel uneasy.

A long long time ago I was seeing a man who had a girlfriend although I didn't realise he was still with her when I was iyswim. He was so protective over his mobile it was a joke. He was never without it and slept with it under his pillow. I know that I was one of several at the time, as well as his girlfriend.

Now, I'm not saying your dh is doing anything naughty, but there is no excuse as far as I can see for a husband not to let his wife see his phone.

I'd snatch it while he's asleep and have a look but then I'm a nosy control freak.

AnyFucker · 18/08/2009 17:55

how did we get from dodgy phone-hiding to Asperger's ????

ahh, Mumsnet

Ruthie22 · 18/08/2009 18:35

I have to say, my OH works for a mobile company and is, probably as a result, obsessed with his phone.

He is constantly on it - work emails, personal emails, facebook... you name it.

I got a little suspicious of him being on it all the time but turns out he is usually on financial pages, his company's news pages etc. according to the history.
Practically all the time.

(Think i would prefer it if it WAS porn rather than bloody work!)

Until he got me a contract i used to rack up enormous bills myself without realising it and going abroad is a killer for charges, esp. the internet.
So it might not be anything untoward (unless he has given you other reasons for suspicion?)

oh and just an afterthought - would anyone bother with porn on their mobiles as the screen is mighty small and it takes ages to load?!? hardly seems worth it! lol

Unlikelyamazonian · 18/08/2009 19:25

My mobile has aspergers

ok, thanks for humour / normal behaviour explanations, makes me feel better. unfortunately our marriage is so on the rocks that anything is something iyswim. Gotta split but too scared / and desparately sad, especially for ds. plus financially a nightmare to say the least

BitOfFun · 19/08/2009 00:17

Oh that's a shame- I guess every little thing keeps you on edge in that case

I agree with everyone here though that his phone usage isn't necessarily sinister.

blahdiblahblah · 19/08/2009 00:23

OK, ladies playing games on their phone whilst on the loo sounds possible....
but men?
Surely they have one hand occupied and need to focus on their aim?

blahdiblahblah · 19/08/2009 00:24

SOrry, didn't see your last post, don't mean to be making light of it
