Had dd 9 weeks ago and keep snapping at bloke and taking things he says the wrong way. I know this is due to lack of sleep but it's driving me and him mad! I want to be a good mum to dd and a good girlfriend to bloke but finding it all a bit hard at the mo, he thinks its still hormones, I denied it but they may still be lurking around, just a bit! Any one got any advice?

Pink

Could it be PMT.

I had ds 9wks ago and like you i am shattered, mind i also have dd1 5yrs on half term and dd 20mths who is cutting 3 teeth. So sleep is a rarity at the moment.

Anyway i'll get back to the pmt only ask as i have just got my AF and i know i have mrs stroppy for the last week.

You poor thing, of course you are tired having a tiny baby is exhausting. When ds was little I once went to my mum's, handed her the baby, climbed into her bed and slept for the whole day!

Can your bloke, or another friend or relative help you here to get a block of solid sleep?

Is bloke also dad to baby?, if so can you look at him and think what a beautiful baby you have made together? Is he being helpful and supportive? If not then you have permission to snap.

He's really good, most of the time, he takes my snappiness on the chin. DD's sleep pattern is getting better but it's the one off bad nights like last night that make me feel crap. He was daft enough to tell me to hurry up this morning, this was after I'd woken up every 2hours during the night, cleaned up sick and made him a coffee before we went out this morning.

Can you nap during the day when baby naps? Or get someone to take them for the afternoon so you can sleep.
It does get better, but its really rough until it does. Lack of sleep would drive anyone to distraction!

Must admit it's got better over last two weeks. Just want to be able to stop snapping! I hear myself and I just think "why be like that". Wish I could just not say stuff sometimes!
