DH's name in the phonebook in another town

N8sofie · 17/04/2009 22:16

I did an online search and found DH's name
registered at a house in the small town where
we used to live. Of course this might be another man with the same name but it is an unusual name.

BTW we are separated for over 2 years.

So, has he bought a house without me knowing? I have checked the land registry but the house is unregistered. Also the name is not on the electoral role at that address. Any ideas how I can find out if the man in the house is
just a man with the same name, or if DH has
bought this house?

WTF has it got to do with you ??

You are seperated, you sound more than slightly unhinged.....IMO

chequersmate · 17/04/2009 22:25

How would him answering mean he had bought the house?

Tenants are allowed to be in the phone book too y'know

fourkids · 17/04/2009 22:25

141 before you dial so your number isn't identifiable and don't say anything I guess! If you are lucky you might get a recorded answer message and recognise his voice from that...

N8sofie · 17/04/2009 22:27

It's got alot to do with me.
More to the point, why are you getting hot under the collar?

Because nutters like you give MN a bad name.

thisisyesterday · 17/04/2009 22:29

pmsl RAV
i thought something similar.

mrsblanc · 17/04/2009 22:29

I am also curious as to why this concerns you.
Do you have a good relationship with him?

Surfermum · 17/04/2009 22:30

He could be renting it.

solidgoldshaggingbunnies · 17/04/2009 22:30

Presumably you want to track him down because he owes you maintenance - in which case I would suggest you inform the CSA that you have found this information (his name, this address) and leave it up to them.

thisisyesterday · 17/04/2009 22:30

why don't you just ask him?

atigercametotea · 17/04/2009 22:32

er..........ask him?

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 17/04/2009 22:33

I'm guessing if people are seperated but not divorced then knowing what their assets are could be important for deciding a settlement. Not thats its any of our business and it could be for any other reason but I'm just trying to say that there are good reasons why the OP may well want to know.

solidgoldshaggingbunnies · 17/04/2009 22:56

Well yeah, there are plenty of good reasons why the OP would want to know - maybe she wants to divorce him but needs to find him first - or it's regarding child support or soemthing. You know, maybe she's being nice about it and wanting to be sure it's the right bloke-with-that-name before unleashing all sorts on some chap who is not her XH at all...

DivaSkyChick · 18/04/2009 04:06

Jeez there are some bitchy women on here tonight.

tallyhohoho · 18/04/2009 07:21

It's important if she wants to divorce him or wants maintenance.
You can find out there's a property website which lists the year a house was bought and what it sold for. I can't remember the address, but somebody else will be along who knows. Try googling the address even.

fizzpops · 18/04/2009 07:30

nethouseprices.com (I think!) or co.uk if that doesn't work....

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 18/04/2009 07:38

Maybe they aren't in contact...maybe he was abusive...maybe he has started another family...maybe he owes her a lot of money....

Oh no, she must be a nutter stalker

howtotellmum · 18/04/2009 19:37

Try 192.com - it's the electoral roll- you can find names and addresses and who else lives at the property - sometimes you have to pay to access all the info, but you might be able to find enough from the "free" info.

hunnybun1981 · 18/04/2009 19:40

rav u r the one that sounds like the nutter

nssofie is on asking advice hardly a nutter for this is she.

i would phone the number do 141 b4 it, and ignore silly comments from people that have nothing better to say
