I'm a long time lurker but don't post much. Tonight I got a bit worried because I emailed my dad on Monday night and just realised today I got no answer. Emailed again at lunch time, stil, no answer. Tried to phone tonight ( normally ring him every Thursday, but its month end tomorrow and have to work late so thought I'd be too wrecked to chat tomorrow). Got no answer. Called hospital, then cops. They got no answer. Kicked his door in, they found him dead in the bathroom. He was only 63. He wasn't in great health, but never had been so am in shock a bit I think. Not sure why I'm posting, am on second bottle of wine. can't sleep. feel very weird and dreading it all, I'm the only child, he lives on his own, has no friends. Can't even contact his two brothers. Fucking fuck . Any words of help much appreciated.

So sorry for your loss.

This happened to my grown up stepson. There is nothing that I can say that will make it any better for you. but just know my thoughts are with you. x

so sorry to hear your news. I lost my dad suddenly (at 59) back in Novemeber. I know the shock you're feeling as my dad also wasn't in the best of health but still wasn't expected to die suddenly. We also had to make the enormous trek up north and it was hard having so many hours to think in the car. Here to listen any time you want to chat.

So sorry must have been a terrible shock for you. Just wanted to say I'm thinking of you.
