Infidelity requires two things:

  1. Desire and/or need
If you're in a loving relationship and your sex drive is matched to your partners you don't have anything to worry about. If your partner wants sex three times a week and you want sex three times a month he's going to find an outlet somewhere. If for no other reason than to avoid the arguments and maintain his self esteem.
  1. Opportunity
Anything that involves a lot of travel, especially if it's "glamorous" like New York and LA rather than Blackpool or Doncaster. Banking, law, media are all notorious. I work in investment banking and there's more flirting on the plane than on a bus on the way to the six-form disco.

I think jobs where you travel lots and stay in hotel lots lend itself to this.

Salesmen seem to be rather prone to it, too. Definitely an ego thing, plus they have plenty of opportunity with all the travel away from home.

lawyers. work hard play hard mentality, heavy drinkers, lots of alpha male / female types, huge egos......

There may be somehing to this idea though, maybe those with loose elastic are attracted to certain professions subconsciously ie sleb 'sex addicts' .
I know a woman who got a 'fire safety check' from the fire service. I actually thought - wait on, you have been single forever, capable woman in many respects and anyway what about wasting resources (my council tax) - why don't I come round and we can do the appropriate checks together?
She looked at me like I was crazy, anyway her and fireman sam are still together (he left someone for her).
