What I meant was he actually knows a bit about the world around him (including the fact it doesn't revolve around him!) which is a rare thing where I live. I'm a Brit living in the States and no offense to any Americans out there, but the majority have NO CLUE about geography or world events or anything outside of their 50 odd states. I have never lived anywhere so insular. So, when my fella started saying what did I think of the rubbish men strike in Italy I nearly fell over. He knows all kinds of random shite. And I love that about him .

mananny- so my single friend could be a real hit with the ladies if he learns the capitals of the world and heads to middle america.

TD if he has a British accent he won't need to do anything else!!! I could recite the alphabet over and over and as long as I use my best telephone voice I get drinks bought for me and everything. The yanks LOVE the British accent here!!!!

he is on the short side and it seems that women, universally, don't look at any man less than 5ft 5 in? Perhaps I should get him to host a thread on MN to tell his story
