NAZI

I'm so angry. I told my 'male' friend last night that I had a job interview and after congratulating me he made some underhand comment about me getting fill time pay for part time hours, unlike him who has to "slave" for 40 hours a week.

To cut a long story short it erupted into a row where he was saying stuff like "single mothers think the world owes them just because they happen to have kids...if they'd kept their legs shut they wouldn't be in this position to start with, why should the tax payer help them out". He called single parents "baby machines" and said the whole problem with Britain is that people don't work at relationships, they just break up because they know that the tax payer will provide for them . I asked him what, for instance, battered women should do and he said they shouldn't have kids with violent people that the term domestic violence is used too readily when half the time its just the woman whinging that everything doesn't go her way. I asked about couples who have affairs, he said they should stay together and go through relate.

Apparantly if people planned properly there would be no single parents. He then went on to say that if single parents insist on being single they should get a loan rather than "tons" of tax credits to see them through until they are able to pay back their debt to society.

Half of it was so nazi'sh I actually began to wonder if he was just trying to wind me up. This is a bloke that has only ever had one serious relationship and that ended because he was an immature twat and was mean to her kids.

Charming. Glad to hear you are booting the twat from your life.

LittleBella · 09/08/2008 15:14

He sounds like he really resents you actually.

Why do you have someone like this in your life? You don't need to have someone around you who attacks your self-esteem and sense of well-being. To misquote William Morris, have people only in your life who you either believe makes you feel good, or whom you know to be useful.

I wouldn't call him a Nazi, I think that's a very specific term, but a racist, a sexist and an all round arse, yes perfectly reasonable.

MrsMattie · 09/08/2008 15:16

Why are you friends with this man? He sounds like a prick.

Twelvelegs · 09/08/2008 15:23

I wonder if he fits the DV perp profile. What a wanker.

quinne · 10/08/2008 08:51

Misogynist?

MrsSnape · 10/08/2008 09:19

Why do I allow myself to get drawn into arguments with him? you know sometimes I wonder if he just says things to wind me up because otherwise he sounds SO MUCH of a twat it's untrue.

Like Friday night...I was minding my own business surfing the net (mumsnet! ) and he sent me an msn message asking something about my shopping and why I buy fairtrade as its so much more expensive. I took the bait and said it was because I like to feel I'm doing "something" for the good of other people and so he starts ranting on that fairtrade is just an excuse to use extortionate prices and all these protesters just need to get a wash and a haircut. he mentioned animal rights protesters which I immediately bit at (stupid me, I know) and I tried to stay neutral and just said "I can understand the frustrations of animal rights protesters but each to their own". So...he said "you'll be wearing organic cardigans and hugging trees next, why do you care about the fluffy wuffy animals?" He then went on to say that animal rights protesters were trying to take the choice away from people, that its good that animals are kept cheaply to keep costs down so meat is cheaper, that he doesn't give a shit about the "fluffy wuffy animals" (this he kept repeating, I'm sure to antagonise me) etc etc...

I ended it by saying "I bet you agree with bullfighting too?" and he replied "it doesn't effect me so I've never had an opinion on it" god he annoys me so much.

tell him to rev up fuck off and leave you alone!

what an idiot ( but obviously structure it better in telling him where to go - as he think's he's so fantastic and opinionated)

LittleBella · 10/08/2008 09:42

Mrs S he sounds as if he enjoys winding you up.

I think you need to stop taking the bait.

electra · 10/08/2008 09:56

He sounds lovely

Seriously, though he sounds rather like a male "friend" of mine who I now don't speak to much because he has similar views. I am a single parent. He informed me that I'm very lucky I am good looking because since I have mental health problems and two children I'm quite clearly a liability that no man with any sense would go near.

To be honest, I pity him and the amount of energy he uses up on disliking others. It must very tiring for him.

MadameOvary · 10/08/2008 10:08

This charmless twat obviously gets off on exerting the only kind of control he can in life - to wind you up. No wonder if he lives at home. Is his mum very domineering by any chance?

ThatBigGermanPrison · 10/08/2008 10:13

He sounds about twelve. Ask to talk to his Mummy next time he MSNs you, and tell her he is pestering you.

Hecate · 10/08/2008 10:18

He clearly set that fairtrade situation up just so that he could argue with you.

Tosspot.

Pruners · 10/08/2008 10:28

MrsSnape · 10/08/2008 10:32

He's also a CLASSIC passive aggressive. Hecate you're right about the fairtrade thing, it was obviously a set up, as was the single parents thing but he starts these things up and then I get all annoyed and irate and he sits back calmy and says if I didn't start arguments with him I wouldn't need to get myself in such a state. He also denies saying stuff, "forgets" vital parts of past conversations and tries to manipulate every situation so that he looks like the "intelligent victim" and whoever he is arguing with ends up looking like an angry, unreasonable idiot.

SpandexIsMyEnemy · 10/08/2008 10:34

sounds like a bloke I was going out with a while back!

DillyTanty · 10/08/2008 10:36

i think he fancies you. he is a twat, however, so it's not immensely flattering.

Hecate · 10/08/2008 10:38

So I take it you are going to stop having any contact with him.

Would you do me a favour?

Tell him you no longer want anything to do with him cos he's a huge twat.

LittleBella · 10/08/2008 14:00

LOL at the unflatteringness of being fancied by a twat

Have you suggested he tries counselling to overcome his passive aggressive need to wind up the people he calls his friend?

Alternatively, just shag him and hope he fucks off before breakfast. It might be a quicker way of getting rid of him.

ConstanceWearing · 10/08/2008 17:40

There will always be lone parents, so long as there are imbeciles like this in the world to mate with.

ConstanceWearing · 10/08/2008 17:41

How about Fascist?

DeeRiguer · 10/08/2008 17:46

he sounds a right twat
and also agree it sounds very much like winding you up is his hobbie..
but you sound silly to repeatedly fall for it, and even sillier for having him around at all..

unflattered and very wary would be my reaction if i thought there was a chance he fancied me..
