Married, Sole breadwinner & growing bitterness

Hi all! Just reaching out here to find other moms who have been the sole breadwinner in their relationship while pregnant and giving birth and have had to get back to work very early as a result and now carry a growing bitterness in their marriage, as the partner still hasn’t found a job. Thanks!

What do you mean by “very early”?

don’t you get at least 6 months paid?

does your dh pick up all the slack at home?

I had 7 months off (6 months paid and 1 month accrued leave). 20 years ago 6 months was the norm, as anything else was unpaid.

if he’s doing the childcare is it worth him going back to work? Will his salary exceed the childcare expense?

is it the financial pressure on you alone that you’re bitter about, or is he generally not pulling his weight?

I think we need more info. How old is baby? Why hasn’t he got a job? Does he pull his weight at home as a stay at home dad?
