Do you think it’s actually easy to find a man who genuinely wants a relationship these days?
Sometimes I think I’d be happier if I had a partner. Just having someone to talk to, spend time with, have a laugh with and share life with. But then I think about how difficult it seems to actually meet someone who wants the same thing.
I know there’s online dating, but are there really that many men out there looking for a proper relationship? When I was younger, most of the men I met seemed to only want one thing, and it honestly puts me off the thought of dating now.
I’m not interested in casual sex or messing around. I’d like to meet someone who actually wants a relationship and is looking for a partner, but I sometimes wonder how realistic that is.
For those of you who have dated recently, what’s it actually like out there? Are there lots of men who genuinely want a relationship, or does it feel like most are just looking for something casual? It just sometimes feels like there isn’t actually anyone out there for me

You have to do a lot of sifting and get good at reading when people are not really committed but I’m married to someone I met online and divorced friends are in committed relationships with the same. Not sure your current position/age - it can be hard to manage the juggle around kids/life but you can make it work it you both want to. If you’re out there and want to meet someone then it’s perfectly possible that so will the male equivalent be!

It's worth bearing in mind that men wanting to have sex doesn't mean they don't want a relationship

I’ve honestly found online dating pretty impossible with no success. I hope you’re luckier

I dated for years until I met DP. Met him 5 years ago when 42.

during that time I did have quite a few short term relationships. I dud find a lot of guys wanted relationships. I just didn’t with them.

equally there where lots of guys pretending they did, but in reality scared of commitment, wanted to date around or just lied. Or causal sex.

I am afraid it’s numbers game and you become an expert at quickly sussing people’s real intentions. I still had fun meeting people. Didn’t sleep around but discrete people I am friends with.

DP was honest at the start and did spend months showing me he wanted a relationship. Suppose I was used to indecisive guys or those wanting causal. Years dating had made me suspicious. Thankfully he was patient.

I'm mid 50s and I found a couple of men my age who wanted a committed relationship with me when I started OLD.

The first one ultimately wasn't for me although he was lovely but I have been with the 2nd one for several years now very happily.
