I started a thread a few months ago, about having a huge crush on a guy at my sports group.

We had a very brief conversation a few months ago, initiated by me, and we’re now doing hello’s and pleasantries but it hasn’t progressed. I know he’s aware of me and I’m pretty sure there’s some attraction on his part, but he (for whatever reason) isn’t pursuing things. Fair enough, I am not arrogant enough to think every man wants to date me.

So I still admire from a distance, we still catch each other’s eye and say hello etc, but I have accepted he is not interested. But I still see him several times a week and he’s always on my mind. How on earth do I get past this? I really hoped the crush would fade but no sign so far. I don’t want to date other people when I am feeling like this. I feel really stupid.

Just to add: someone posted this on my previous thread, and I think this is an accurate assumption

My gut feeling from what you've described is - he finds you mildly attractive but not enough to move the conversation on to anything longer or deeper.

Imagine him on the toilet, or cutting his toenails all over your bed.

It's been another month and he's still not interested.

Find someone else to go out with. Socialize, do a different hobby, try a new sport - winter is coming, try some cross country skiing or snowshoeing if you get snow in your area, learn to cook a cuisine you like. Fill your life with interesting things, don't feed your crush, and your crush will likely wither.

He might have a GF/BF, or wife

BrickMaker · Yesterday 05:11

He probably has a girlfriend. Just start saying other people

Start dating other people and you will soon get over your crush and wonder what all the fuss was about.
I think he would have got to know you better by now if he was interested. Its not anything wrong with you. We are not everyone's cup of tea (coffee, smoothie), if you know what I mean.
Hope you find someone nice soon.💐x

Op Just think as others have suggested he has a DP and you may be splitting up a family!
Maybe the guy is being polite with smiles etc.
Alternatively simply ask him about his family.

He may not be available.

Have you looked up limerance?

The mixed messages feed it. The only way to get over it is to completely avoid him

This! It’s the mixed messages keeping you hooked - if things felt constant it’d be much easier to move on

I remember your other thread.
You were pretty sure he was single if I recall.
Finding a new crush is the best way of getting over an old one.
Also, not seeing him at all will help.

The knowledge that someone didn't see me in the same way would probably kill any feelings on my part. Without knowing him on a deeper level and getting mutual interest and flirting from him, it's really just about looks. I wouldn't let this put you off dating and meeting new men. It could be what you need to distract you. He is probably dating or interested in someone himself, so don't put your dating life on hold for him.

He's quite consistent, always really pleasant if he sees me. But nothing more though. Time to concede defeat. Not sure I'm ready for dating apps though
