Exhausted by Family Court.

My ex husband has started the family court process, has a solicitor.

For context we have been separated 4 years and I left him then as he was abusive, everything but sexual although he did not hit me but would hit things. Have had to deal with post separation abuse since I left which I believe this whole court facade is part of too.
Despite this I have always tried to be amicable with him.

He's been in and out of our child's life since I left, abit more consistent this year, I also have safeguarding concerns for my child, I'm not wanting to stop contact completely however the massive jump he is asking for I don't feel is at all fair to our child and not in their best interests. Our child is 6 and is autistic.

I'm standing on my own through all this, I feel completely overwhelmed and keep second guessing myself, I know I'm a good Mum who's done everything for my child, so why am I feeling so shit?! I feel like no one believes me. I need to fight this and be strong, does anyone have any tips how they got through it? I just want to be left alone by him 😔

What is it he is asking for? Has he ever mistreated the child, what are your safeguarding concerns?

You need to find help to get you through, for your child's sake. I am not sure where.
Start with the school and the GP, and whoever were the people who got your child diagnosed. Consider calling social services. Tell them everything and be honest.
They will help you tell the court what your child needs. They will put the child ahead of his wants, and will make a professional case to the judge.

Your role is to gather evidence of his failures. Dates he fails to make contact. Anything he does that is not good for your child. Write it all down ready to show the professionals.

You are stronger than you realise.
