Crying after intimacy.

My partner (F) and I (M) have a wonderful, fulfilling, sex life. We do not live together but see each other often and are exclusive. After intimacy during which my partner orgasms very powerfully. She cries, which I found disturbing at first. She assures me that all is well and that she is happy and content and I understand this as part of our intimacy. Do others have any experience of this?

I saw a documentary about a woman who was dying of asbestosis. That had me proper crying. Still think about her.

And what has that got to do with the price of fish?

I think you're looking for the Sex topic, not the Sex and Gender board @PompeyPam

Well about as much as the OP’s question has to do with the Sex and Gender Discussions Board.

EBearhug · 13/10/2026 12:25

I cry after intense orgasms, and it is a shock to men who haven't been expecting it. It's not bad tears, like she says.

Wrong forum mate

We have ample experience of creepy men on the Sex and Gender board

Hi, OP.

Just a quick note to let you know that we've moved your thread to the Relationships board, as you'll hopefully get more advice and responses there.

Best wishes,
Faye

It's not that unusual, it's all to do with release. Best of luck.

When I posted it was (inappropriately) on the Feminism board.

OMGDidYouSayThat · 13/10/2026 13:02

It's just a emotional response driven by a overload of the senses after orgasm. I would only worry if she doesn't cry afterwards, as you where...

Or men who want to be congratulated on the Powerful Orgasms they give their partners.

More so on the relationships board because men can't join and immediately get access to the sex board, which is why they signed up.

On the other hand, October holidays in Scotland have started.

I did this. After a particularly intense orgasm I would burst into tears. The release was wonderful. The guy I was with found it difficult - he didn't like it at all. This is the thing with men; they are basically a bit simple. Crying = bad. People cry when they're happy - they must know that. But he just couldn't join the dots. His loss. OP - you are having a profound effect on this woman. Be glad. Do not fuck it up. Incidentally, there's also laughing during orgasm. Brace yourself.

I would suggest your relationship will benefit from you believing your partner and not seeking validation from strangers. HTH

TheThirteenthFairy · 13/10/2026 16:09

For those who think OP has his hand down his pants - perhaps he does, but crying during/after orgasm really is A Thing.

I’m not saying it isn’t. But no, I don’t believe this was posted in good faith.
