Has anyone used Bumble BFF?

In my late 40s with not many friends. Married (though not happily) with 2 adult kids. Wanted to meet new people. Looked at Meet-up but it looks like it’s more for young or single people. The internet suggested Bumble BFF, but I’m too scared to put my photo on it from the start. I’m a teacher and don’t want my students to find me. Any suggestions will be appreciated x

My friend did this . Unlikely that your students would bother . You don't have to upload a photo straight away - you could even explain why . She has gone on to befriend two other woman that meet up for coffee, days out , and keeps in touch regularly.

People will only see ages they are searching for, or slightly outside that if they choose. It's separate to the bumble dating app too.

Yes I've used it.

I doubt school kids will be on that!

Why are you still with your husband if your marriage isn’t good and your kids are adults? Presumably as a teacher you could afford to leave ?

Kids can do reverse searches and find your photos on all sorts of social media sites. I don’t need judgement or opinions on my home life thanks. I was just asking about a site I wasn’t familiar with. If you have nothing useful to say, then just keep your opinions to yourself.

Life is difficult. What’s good for the individual isn’t necessarily good for the group….

I've tried it. One thing I would say is, if you're open to making friends, but have no romantic intention whatsoever, make that very clear on your profile.

Saying you're married is not enough - LOTS of married people use BFF for FWB - and be selective of who you match with.

You will probably still end up with some creeps, sadly. If so, just block them.

You can filter to just looking for female friends. Don't think they used to have that setting in the past.

Yes you can
I was very surprised with the amount of married men trying to match with me. Not sure why it surprises me though 🙄

Yes I've used it. Didn't like it.

I used it briefly. I also didn’t like it, I don’t think I trusted people’s intentions and even though I searched only for female friends, the two people I ended up chatting to more regularly were both trans women (which I wouldn’t have known from their photos) and as a result I just came off.
