Why do I crave acceptance in this friendship group?

I met a group of women a number of years ago. Initially things were supportive but life has gone on and the group has become increasingly passive aggressive and competitive. While I like some individuals I can’t deny it’s not a positive overall experience.Yet I can’t seem to step away! Has anybody else had this? I struggle to understand myself tbh!

How did you meet the group and how many are in it?

Six of us, when pregnant with DC1.

Ah so is it like a mum group? I’m in a mum group from breastfeeding and honestly the competitiveness between baby and toddler milestones is killing me off but I appreciate the like company around me … so maybe I get it a bit 😅

Haha that’s exactly what it is! And maybe I am feeling like I’ve invested quite a lot in these friendships. I’ve arranged to go on a night out and I’m wondering why when I’m unlikely to enjoy it!
