How long did it take you to recover from emotional/flirting betrayal? If you chose to stay and work on your relationship.

I only found out a few days ago and I feel like I won’t ever be okay again. It is a very complicated situation with deep wounds.

@moderate He said he lied as he felt so bad about it he couldn’t bring himself to tell the truth.

He lied to avoid the response you would give. He lied because he feels he deserves more than just your attention.
He lied because he was flattered and needs his self worth boosting by a 19 year old.

He lied to protect himself because he is selfish and doesn’t believe you (or his mates) deserve the truth.

He lied because he doesn’t believe the relationship rules (and mates rules) apply to him.

He lied because lying doesn’t make him lose sleep at night. He thinks lying is acceptable, sometimes.

He lied because he thinks fidelity is optional (at least for him).

I bet he lies regularly. To his mum, boss, mates. He will maybe say to keep the peace. Or to make it easier. But I bet he is comfortable with being a liar when it suits him.
