Saying things or updates every single day, and getting almost no response.
When i point this out she tends to say she has heard and guesses or has maybe listened but almost never any discussion.

mention this is frustrating about once a week. But any change lasts a coupke if days at best.
During the day i will think a handful of times i cant wait to get home and tell partner, but the last 2 days i've not bothered. I speak to my dog more now.

Partners ignoring your bids for connection is a bad sign for a relationship. It feels awful.

Maybe share this with her: https://www.gottman.com/blog/an-introduction-to-emotional-bids-and-trust/

How long have you been together plus lived together? When did this behavior begin, since I assume she had more interest in your day at the beginning of the relationship? Does she still have other good traits as a partner, or have those positive traits lapsed as well? Have you asked her lately if there is anything she wants improved in your relationship? Is she happy with how things are going? Is her focus elsewhere, like on any new people in her life?

Are you making sure you have their attention first?

I'm usually always doing something - reading, crafting, watching a video etc and really need DH to get me out of that zone before I hear what he's saying. I blame working in a noisy office for 20 years as I've learned to block out voices.

Sounds like an avoidant partner and they will suck the life out of you just by ignoring you it’s like the fact that you can live in emotion weirds them out. You need to run and find someone who you can have belly laughs with talking about something as mundane as your day, not somebody who ignores your presence. Your presence is powerful, be with someone who acknowledges that not diminishes it. All the best

Been together 4 years. We both busy, but it's daily now and my excuses to myself for this behaviour is running thin now.

Good suggestion above by Cherry - i'll try politely make sure I have her attention first, or that she isn't engrossed in something.
