Missing a partner despite a full life as a single mum

I have quite a full life - I work part time, have a 2 year old, I go to the gym and salsa dancing when I can, I see family.
I have quite a full life - I work part time, have a 2 year old, I go to the gym and salsa dancing when I can, I see family.

I have 2 close friends and a wider circle of about 5 friends but we don't see eachother as much as we would like as we all have kids and they have partners.

I don't have a partner and I have come off dating apps and am focusing on experiences with my son and being a mum, finding a higher paid job/ job with better opportunities, improving my health and making in-person connections when I am able to go out.

However, I still have times where I spend a whole day alone when my son is with his dad, despite my hobbies.

I really am just missing having a partner to cosy up with, do everyday mundane things with and connect with. Its different from spending time with family or friends. Sometimes I feel like I will never meet the right person - I attract emotionally unavailable men, recently separated men, narcissistic men and send them on their way before it even goes anywhere.

I was seeing someone for a couple of months and he ended it randomly one day because he realised he is jealous of my son. Dodged a bullet but find myself missing the fun bits of a relationship and the connection. I want to find someone to build a life with - any advice?

I stayed 6 years single but had a FT job, a dog and 2 cats so time without children when at their Dad’s was a chance to relax and just breathe….

I have now met someone which is lovely but I also know I’d be fine on my own as I’ve learned to quite like my own company.

I did meet DP on the apps but had a very high bar and said he had to my life which would be very difficult! He stepped up to that which has been lovely.

You sound like you’ve got loads going for you so don’t just settle for company and good luck 🤞

A pert time friend and lover is required then. Fill in those empty moments.

I'm really sorry to hear about your situation. I have been in this situation myself. With the way that the world is going today : you are yearning for something which does not exist. Probably being recently disappointed by someone has only made you feel worse. You see : I want to let you into a little secret; and that secret is that men these days treat Love as a game ..... You just have to join in the game too. If you feel that your life is lacking in something then how about if you go and search out people who are worse off than yourself and volunteer to help them. Hankering after someone to pair up with to ease your burden is going to lead nowhere. That perfect person is going to be elusive abd will not deliver because we meet people to learn lessons. Try to change your perspective and become someone else's Lesson ( it's much more satisfying)
