In love with someone I cannot trust after ten years together

I’m in love with someone I can’t trust. been with him around 10 years. found him on dating sites upwards of 20 times, not in past couple of years though. he’s been watching things on YouTube I don’t like, a channel where a guy asks scantily clad women if they prefer front or back door?, he said it’s my issue because if it was bad they wouldn’t allow it on youtube. have also found searches on his iPad for dirty kik girls. my self esteem is very low and I need to have a preventative mastectomy so it will be even lower. I just feel addicted to this man and I get panicky when I think of my life without him. he’s the funniest person I’ve met and makes me smile. he’s not very emotionally supportive and when my dad was passing away with cancer he said ‘he won’t need his money where he’s going’. I don’t know why I can’t break away. I’m very depressed atm and am worried about my future so it does help having him around because he helps me and makes me smile.

No wonder your self esteem is low OP and no doubt he is taking great delight in knowing this.

I'm so sorry about your Dad.

Have you seen your GP for help regarding your depression? Do you have a medical team who are looking after your welfare regarding your up coming surgery ? I would think supporting you in your mental health woukd be part of their remit.

I can't see how him making you smile sometimes is any compensation for the effect he has on your self esteem.
I think you should concentrate on your physical and mental health, take all the support available from medical professionals and reach out to any family or friends irl . And gather your inner strength to break free from this man who is such a negative in your life

You don't have to settle for a callous, cold, emotionally unsupportive cheating scumbag. Your identity is larger than him, but you won't develop it until you're single and without him.

If you want to smile, you can watch comedy for laughs. There's a lot of it online.

It’s not love, it’s low self esteem. You absolutely can break free

Did he make you feel good once, years and years ago and now you think if you can just do the right thing you can get back to how it was? Are you addicted to something that disappeared years ago and was never real?
