Should I end my marriage after repeated separations and feeling unsafe?

i Feel like I should call quits on my marriage.
we have separated 4 times since our son being born a year ago.
he manipulates situations all the time, always saying I have issues he doesn’t and he won’t take the blame.
he was diagnosed with depression when we were separated for a week he is on different tablets. He is calmer but I don’t think I feel emotionally safe with him anymore. Another thing we had s** last night and I just didn’t want to kiss him at all just get it over and done with.
also he keeps going on I had a mental breakdown to every single person.
I just feel like I enjoyed being on my own for that week.
but feel guilty as I said to him I wanted to work things out. And after every time I say this is the last time and yet here he is back with me again.

If you’ve separated 4 times in a year then you will be permanently separated eventually, why not just get on with it?
As for having sex with him if you don’t want to then don’t.
Dont feel guilty, he sounds like a manipulative man. Put your baby first.

If someone said the title of your own thread to you what would you say? That’s no way to live OP.

You’re clearly not compatible, so yes, separate.

OldrNWisr · 02/09/2026 07:24

It’s not supposed to be this hard. Do you still love him? Be honest with yourself, because if it’s gone it won’t come back and you’re just prolonging the agony by staying. If you’re this unhappy and don’t think it will change, make the break.

There's a really easy answer to this one (to say, though far harder to do)

Yes, you should separate.

This is the last thing you need as a new mum. You need to use your brain here as well as your heart and take a good long look at what he's doing, which is mess you around and be viciously unkind (telling everyone you had a mental breakdown).

That in itself means, lovely, you need to re-think your ideas of what a genuinely nice man is. Because this one isn't, at all.

Also, when we were a week apart he kept asking me if we are seeing other people. I said no. Then now he says his account got hacked and he keeps getting spam and money came out for dating sites

A new baby puts a lot of strain on a marriage. Would you consider couples counselling or do you feel he's too abusive for that?

You know what you need to do.

PickFlowersNotFights · 02/09/2026 08:30

Run. Very fast. What tosh about dating sites and being hacked 🙄

BIWI · 02/09/2026 08:31

Do you really have to ask?! Just read your OP and imagine one of your friends had written that.

Justbrieme · 02/09/2026 08:34

For me the number 1 trait that determines if something can be fixed is the ability to take responsibility. He does not have that ability. It cannot be fixed.

L0V315 · 02/09/2026 08:36

No use flogging dead horses op, do however get some support around you to keep you safe when you split up from him.

Manipulative people are deeply abusive and you are going to need to learn how to deal with this. Standing firm against a tide of poisonous and toxic behaviour is really hard to do.

Many women here have been where you are and have the battle scars to prove it. Lean on them, let them guide you through.

Bluenotgreen · 02/09/2026 08:36

You’re flogging a dead horse here.

Just end it and move on with a happy life.

ReleaseTheDucksOfWar · 02/09/2026 09:08

And do the Freedom Programme, lovely.

This isn't the first time he's behaved very badly is it?

Imbusytodaysorry · 02/09/2026 10:03

@Ejs890011 if you are going to finish this for good then who cares what he says to people.
However he is always manipulating people into thinking you are the bad guy and you are crazy. This is dangerous. .He is covering his back .
Who's house is it ?
Id be needing this for good. .He is going to cause you alot of harm .

zurigo · 02/09/2026 10:10

You know the answer to this OP. End it now.

moderate · 03/09/2026 11:38

Don't keep taking him back.

dudsville · 03/09/2026 11:42

I said "OMG yes" just from reading your thread title.

Comtesse · 03/09/2026 20:33

4 break ups in a year? No sorry it sounds hopeless.
