Starting over but down in dumps

Hello, I am starting over again aged 42

I am successful, youthful, kind - but I feel my energy has been zapped. I don’t feel zest for life like I used to.

Single again - I’d love to meet someone but I have no hope.

I’m really down in the dumps and confidence knocked.

No nearby friends.

Any advice or similiar stories please share

Thank you v much

I feel the same way. Very bad previous relationship had put me off for a long while. Finally find myself thinking about a relationship again but it seems so daunting. I'm happy on my own but there is something missing. Feeling romance and wanted again would be delightful. But relationships come with so many downs that I just don't find myself feeling motivated to find somebody.

I think it's best not to go looking sometimes. Cliché but the old "love will find you when you least expect it" may actually hold some truth, in some cases. I think we should let it happen organically.

How come you want to find someone now? Are you just fed up of being alone?

The thing for me is I want to find someone without having to date specifically. I cba with countless dates, disappointments and getting my hopes up only to feel that familiar deflated feeling.

I hope you find someone though! It can be very lonely at times

Be kind to yourself. Take a bit of time out to get over the past/get to know yourself/what you really want.

Treat yourself, if you have the means go on a little adventure, make changes (small is fine).

Do what you want to do, don’t worry about everyone else’s opinions.

Same !
I have recently split which was 💯 the right thing but can't help feel totally numb to life ..
I have powerful moments but they don't last long and always end up back in this mindset. ..
I guess we just have to try and see the good in life and keep going !
