Is it normal to feel so disillusioned with people after difficult relationships and just loosing empathy?

Is there something wrong with me or this a normal feeling?

I feel so disappointed and deflated lately with humans and sort of lost the spark I used to feel about people. I went from a narc relationship for about 10 years. He very much hates me now. It has been hard to understand that this is because I stopped believing he was a good person. I’ve been in a relationship for many years with another man. This family are the most non emotional and disconnected family I’ve ever met. Lots of competition, siblings hardly talk, it’s just dead to be in. I’ve also lost what I thought was a good friend who I’ve come to understand simply used me for my empathy and has moved on, this is a pattern in her friendships.

Everywhere I’ve ever turned are these people. Is it me? Do I ask too much? I don’t view relationships as transactional and I don’t turn up in them with this attitude but it seems everyone else does. I end up feeling very used and hurt. I used to put a lot of faith in people but it’s just gone, all I see is a bunch of selfish people.
