I had a sibling come to me, which they were sent from my parents and they relaying to me they wanted their house key back aka my parents key house back so i cant access there house anymore but theu added a lame excuse why they wanted it returned of not having a enough keys so instead I have changed my house lock as a result

Sorry @Shadybean I am very confused.

Whose house?
Who wants it back?
Who wants the keys?

Maybe edit your post to clarify as very confusing

So your parents want their keys back after a disagreement? Is it a big deal as presumably you don't live there anymore? Was it quite a big disagreement to cause this?

IAlmostJumpIn · 19/08/2026 12:59

Your parents want the key to their house back? Give it to them.

professionalcommentreader · 19/08/2026 13:04

Eh? Their key but changed your locks?

ToKittyornottoKitty · 19/08/2026 13:05

Your post makes no sense and there isn’t a question or anything. Maybe rewrite it

TheBrunswick · 19/08/2026 13:07

So did you change your locks as a tit for tat, I cant get into your house so you can't get into mine?

Boreded · 19/08/2026 13:07

Cool story 😎

NerrSnerr · 19/08/2026 13:08

You have keys to your parents house but you’ve fallen out so they want them back? That sounds fair. If you want access can’t you knock?

Eh? Their key but changed your locks?

That's what I gleaned from the rather confusing post. That op has changed the locks to her house because the ops parents refused to give them a set of keys to their house?

BloomersAreIn · 19/08/2026 13:10

My guess is…

your sibling was sent by your parents to retrieve a house key for your parents house claiming that your parents needed it back as they had run out of spare keys.

However, you suspect they did it to stop you going in their house whilst they were not at home.

So, in retaliation, you have changed the locks on your own house so they can’t enter your house either.

PirateMemoryGame · 19/08/2026 13:26

Your post makes no sense.

Activelife · 19/08/2026 13:48

I cant make heads nore tails out of what you have posted.

Naurrr · 19/08/2026 14:13

Did you want advice? I can't see the problem, you gave people their house keys back as they requested, seems fine.

outerspacepotato · 19/08/2026 14:31

Give them their keys back.

GloriousGoosebumps · 19/08/2026 14:49

Your parents are entitled to ask for their house keys back so you must return the keys. As you're obviously aware, you can play tit for tat and ensure they can't access your house but it would have been far cheaper for you to just ask them to return your house keys rather than change your locks. What was the argument about? Is demanding the return of their house keys your parent's usual reponse to any disagreement?

Clueless
