Is She being flirty?

Last friday, my friend invited me (F) to her club for social tennis with other groups of women.

We played tennis, took a shower then, head to the bar.

While dancing, met a woman (40s) in the bar again coincidently who played the tennis with me in that day.

We started dancing together basically, had a chat and found out both are single.

I have enjoyed time together with her, great vibes, laugh together.

Today, I got this text message from her "Hey <name>!! Just to give you a shout that I enjoyed dancing with you on Friday. I can't stop thinking about it. if you want to hangout, play more tennis, and more fun, give me a shout. xx"

Of course! Have a great date.

Enjoy your date 😊

If you know she’s interested in women then I would say definitely that’s flirting and you have a date.

If she’s not into women and mentioned it then I would say she is just connecting with a potential new friend and tennis partner.

But mentioning that she liked dancing with you makes me really think it’s the former!

IMO that’s more than friendly - I think she’s not sure if you’re into women / into her so she’s written it in a way that’s ambiguous - but it’s definitely a date if you want it to be!

Are you interested? If so, write back and say “I had a great time too, and I’d love some more tennis and dancing. Can I buy you a drink sometime?”

lol, that's not flirty it's just being obvious! When did the art of flirting die out?

Sequentino · 18/08/2026 17:35

Well, thanks for all of the replies so far.
Both of us have been only on the straight relationships.

For me, I have been single for the past 4 years with some frustrating dating experiences with men.
I just have texted back to her and will grab a coffee and tennis together and go for the food and club as well.

I must say it sounded like flirty initially. Given we have only been on the straight relationships, didn't think she would be interested in women so, wanted to get some views from others.
