I had a very tricky path after an abusive 20 year marriage and signed up to a large dating website. I met and dated one person who was in the divorce process but it transpired they had a restraining order in place at that time. Another had a conviction for domestic abuse. Neither of these people told me this was the case and I found out by online searches. Given my history these situations were extremely difficult to navigate.
