Looking to date again.. any recommendations about dating sites that aren’t full of fakes and scammers? Tried tinder and pof but not my thing. Need to be fairly discreet as well due to my work

I find Hinge is the pick of a bad bunch

Thatsthebottomline · 27/07/2026 18:39

Pretty much none of them. Its all the same rubbish. Better to find a different way.

Hinge, met my fiancé on there! My other friend also met her bf on there, definitely recommend

I think the sites are pretty much all the same operationally wise. However the people on them is another story. Occasionally you might come across someone decent.

Good reports of Hinge but guy I met there recently should be the subject of a Louis Theroux documentary according to my PT 😁

These sites should carry a name and shame section. So anyone acting inappropriately can be binned for the world to see :)

Hinge and Bumble worked for me. POF was a freakshow.

Angela59 · 28/07/2026 04:42

Ukfreedating works for me
usual inappropriateness and idiots asking for pictures but I have care for that lol
plus you can easily block people,

EssexMum80 · 28/07/2026 14:19

Thanks for the tips… what about meeting guys “ in the wild” call me old school lol. Bit tricky time wise balancing work and kids as ever…

Hobby groups, Aldi, Tesco, the park, the cafe. A smile goes a long way :)

People on OLD are rude because they hide behind the barrier of the internet. I block at least one or two daily.

Everyone "loves a walk and a Sunday roast", so expect the parks to be full of singletons every Sunday before they go off to have their Sunday roast.

"love walking on the beach" and lives in Birmingham
"cosy pub with a log fire" They are all shut and I haven't seen a fire in the spoons
"love wild water swimming" off you go then
