Firstly I’m so sorry this post is so long but I’m seriously on the verge of a complete breakdown, the police are not willing (or able to support) and I feel completely alone.

A bit of a backstory, I met my ex a few years ago, I was a single mum we were just coming out of the second lockdown, I was miles away from my family and craved adult interaction. My ex was a single dad, extremely complimentary and sent flowers to my work every single week until I agreed to go on a date.

We were together just over 2 years. To call the relationship unstable is an understatement. My ex is a pathological liar. They lied about everything, from their job (they were unemployed), to their relationship status (previously married) to their housing status and it genuinely scares me that I never really knew the person I was with for 2 years (please note, we never lived together and my child was NEVER alone in their care. The relationship was also emotionally and physically violent.

I tried to get out several times and was always hit with ‘you’ll be the reason my kids don’t grow up with a dad I’m going to kill myself which would drag me back. They also told me I needed to get psychological help any time I confronted them with another lie and I was convinced I was going insane.

The relationship finally ended, we both got new partners but their relationship has ended and now the harassment has begun AGAIN. They are blocked on everything yet they have made multiple social media accounts messaged my clients saying I’m having affairs with their partner, messaged my partner saying the most wild accusations, messaged family members and just attempt to ruin my life.

I’ve deleted all social media (which I need as I am self employed beautician) changed my number and blocked their email address but the harassment has not stopped. They called the police on me for having a band breed (she’s a staffy lab mix)I contacted the police who advised as the messages were not threatening nothing could be done. I’ve contacted social media platforms they just make a new account.

I’m waking up every morning with anxiety wondering what the next allegation will be. It’s so pathetic how much this is impacting me. They mother of their children took out a non mol order and none of the children have contact with him.

I just want to be left alone. Any advice?

Didn't want to read and run - so sorry you are going through this.
Would it be worth talking to a solicitor? A nice stiff letter threatening action over the physical abuse might do the trick?

Keep reporting to police and keep copies of any evidence you have. This is stalking and harassment which IS illegal, it doesn't have to be threats to be illegal. I would also speak to a solicitor and get advice. Tell your trusted clients that your abusive ex is harassing you so that they know not to take any notice of his lies.
