Right man, wrong time

Have you ever had that feeling about someone that you could see yourself with them but in the future? Right person, wrong time kind of scenario.

I have that feeling about someone I know. Haven't got a crush on them and it's not limerance, it's more of a personality match and compatability thing. Both in the wrong place for anything right now and there's never been a hint of anything romantic (or physical). Just wondering whether I'm nuts 😂 I'm not nuts enough to believe it will happen or it's 'destiny' or anything as silly as that, I know a lot can change or happen, it's just that odd feeling of potential, but not right now.

I've lost the plot, haven't I?

By “ both in the wrong place”, do you mean “in relationships with other people?” Because if not, what is preventing you from getting together now?

So you are both attached to other people?

No, post long-term relationships.

No you actually sound quite level headed OP. You seem realistic, pragmatic. You are a human so it's natural to have these feelings.

I thought this once. Waited a few years, dated other people, he said he didn’t, and we got together.
Realised why he’d stayed single all that time. He had no ability to be a good partner in a relationship; he was far too selfish and only his needs mattered. It takes more than personality compatibility. Shared morals and values are just as important.

No, I don't believe in that. If you want to be with someone you want to be with them now. There may be practical things keeping you apart, but they would be experienced as frustrations.
In this case, it may be simply that you can see the two of you are compatible and might get on well as a couple.

Similar experience here, was convinced he was the “one that got away” because of bad timing issues. Dated again and it was evident why the relationship would never have worked long term. Definitely takes more than attraction/personality. His morals and goals were very different than mine!
