Its twofold really -

a) - 5.00am when I have just got DD back to sleep... I WANT TO SLEEP!!!!!

b) "wifely duty".. sod right effing off.

I know, I'm going to get the whole of MN saying what a prat he is..... those who have seen earlier posts already know this!! I just thought I'd give everyone another excuse to be outraged by what a wanker he can be.

'wifely duty'. What a charmingly traditional phrase

shrinkingsagpuss · 26/06/2008 10:59

Maybe if he did his "husbandly duty" and got up in the night to settle dd you would feel more inclined to do your bit.

theyoungvisiter · 26/06/2008 11:00

ha! My DH makes the same suggestion at about the same time - although to do him credit he doesn't use the phrase "wifely duty" - except perhaps as a joke to piss me off!

I have instituted a strict 6.30am watershed. Any overtures earlier than that gets a slap on the hand and a grumpy snort.

My dh hasn't said the "wifely duty" words before, but he does quite often remind me that he "has needs".
And 5.00 am is too early to do ANYTHING!!!

shrinkingsagpuss · 26/06/2008 11:01

to be fair the "wifely duty" bit is more to piss me off than a serious turn of phrase!

Although it might be a reference to my lack of interest in sex... but tbh who the hell does want sex at 5.00? well... apart from men with an early morning hard on??

I know, sagpuss. I think that deserves the afore-mentioned medical procedure. Let alone the 5am thing.

theyoungvisiter · 26/06/2008 11:06

DH would want it at 5am whether or not he's been up in the night and frequently does. Also whether or not he has a hangover, is ill, is knackered - you name it really. I think it's a reflex action to try his luck.

I try to take it as a compliment - evidently I am irresistible even bleary-eyed at 5am with mascara halfway down my cheeks and breastmilk stains on my dressing gown.

shrinkingsagpuss · 26/06/2008 11:09

the words "morning' and "glory" spring to mind. I DO NOT take it as a compliment.
