We have been togeyher for 11 years he always been a joker but recently its becoming really annoying to me. When we met i was 31 and didnt mind the constant joking around but i am 42 now and i just want peace and quiet. We domt live together but when he stays first thing in the morning i wanna get a cup of coffee and sit in bed and watch my tv for half an hour before i have to go to work but as soon as he opens his eyes he wants to joke around like the first thing that come out of his mouth is a joke for example he will say things like 'you were farting all night' years ago i would of found that funny but its annoying to me now. Also when comes round he knocks on the door and when i open it he always does a silly dance before he comes in he cant just walk in normally. When we spend whole days together i am drained from tbe constant joking around and hyperness. Maybe ive got grumpy lol but i just want maturity and peace

You’ve just got the ick. Get rid.

inkgirl · 21/07/2026 10:23

Sounds like he still gets excited to see you. A man that can still joke around and be silly with you is a man that truly loves you and can be their selves around you.

Probably better to not shame strangers on the internet.

also probably best not to AS an OP and then make a comment telling her to dump her partner of 11 years without any explanation with giving any context @Naurrr

Please stop targeting me, plenty of other posters have told OP she'd be better off dumping the boyfriend, why not shame and tag them? (Rhetorical question as I won't be reading any reply from you)

Shame on you

susiedaisy1912 · 21/07/2026 15:01

That is who he is and you do both of you an injustice by staying with him and trying to put up with it. Someone will find it funny. He deserves to be himself how juvenile it may be as do you. I’d end things if it were me.

Yes but your suggestion was to just send a message to a partner of 11 years to tell him to not contact you again. 11 years!

orangehandles · 21/07/2026 15:15

Now look, OP. You have posted about him before, you've even split up with him before. You're back together again, even though he continues to treat you like shit. You've had endless advice. Everyone has told you he's vile, he is horrible to you, yet you are still together, and posting about him again.

What is the point in anyone trying to support or advise you if you won't listen?

forceofhabitandnotneed · 21/07/2026 15:31

Are you dating Colin Hunt from The Fast Show?!

category12 · 21/07/2026 15:35

Why do you stay with him?

😂 that’s exactly who I thought of when I read the OP.

She has written on previous threads that the man shouts at her, he's horrible and disrespectful 🤷🏻

Ah it’s one of THOSE threads is it, where someone talks about one issue and doesn’t mention all the other, serious ones, so people go “aww it’s not that bad”. I wish people wouldn’t do this but it’s very common on MN.

JadedVeryJaded · 21/07/2026 16:11

Constant jokers are exhausting and boring too after a while. I’m amazed you’ve lasted eleven years.

This surely has to be a very low sense of self worth. She’s started this thread talking about his annoying traits but said nothing about how badly he treats her, so she’ll hear some sympathy for him instead of a barrage of LTB. Seems she doesn’t want to dump him, so she must believe she deserves it.
