Sooo... my husband and I are happily married .. however this one thing is always coming up.. for context -he smokes cigarettes, Vapes and plays games.. I dont judge him or give him a hard time for any of it.. I vape .. and that's about it really .. though I like to get a steri stumpie [packaged milkshake 300ml] every night to drink whilst I watch TV or a movie .. it provides some comfort for me in a way I would say .. im not over weight or anything and money is not the issue either.. the issue im having is that my husband says I am crazy for needing to have a steri stumpie every night and I feel harshly judged by it. But in my mind this is crazy already because its not like I need drugs or alcohol every night, its a milkshake ? Who am I hurting by wanting to do this in the evening ? Im so confused and I don't know.. like am I actually weird or crazy for doing this.. to the extent that my husband makes me feel terrible about it ?

Drink what you want.

Why are you listen to what a man thinks? Like, ew.

Tonileebekker · 20/07/2026 19:08

He is my husband. It matters to me

So give him a hard time about smoking and gaming next time he starts and see how he likes it?

He has habits that are bad for him, your regular milkshake is pretty innocuous.

Funchythesnowwoman · 20/07/2026 19:16

What do you say to him about smoking?

Tonileebekker · 20/07/2026 19:31

I compared the two and he says that its not nearly the same. That smoking is an addiction and that me having a milkshake every night cannot be an addiction also that the milkshake is way worse for me than smoking is. I do not agree

He's a fool.

SallyD00lally · 20/07/2026 19:32

Meh 🤷‍♂️

Not sure why you're 'so confused', just tell him to belt up and ignore him.

loveyheendoftheday · 20/07/2026 19:35

well he has bad habits which are vile so.i would ignore.

But the only issue relating to you is what flavour? Are you mixing it up each night? I do love me a steri stumpie.

HangryBrickShark · 20/07/2026 19:36

My friend drinks 3 pints of milkshake in an evening, she loves banana Nesquik the most. She also uses Jersey Gold Top milk. She's like a lathe. Her partner doesn't care. Neither should yours.

He’s right - that’s why there’s all the warnings and pictures of diseased organs on the side of milkshakes. Oh wait…

Justchillinhere · 20/07/2026 19:38

Your preference in having a milk shake has nothing to do with him, He's being rude and disrespectful by making you feel bad about it, telling you your crazy is rude and controlling. Sounds like the start of gaslighting.you won't realise it because it's done slowly over time, leaving you questioning yourself, the crazy part

likelysuspect · 20/07/2026 19:39

How old are you and your husband exactly?

Tonileebekker · 20/07/2026 19:40

Bubblegum and strawberry. I like that you added some humor there 😄

He thinks his smoking is better for him than you having a milkshake every day?

No, he doesn't really think that
He's gaslighting you

It might seem small, but I think this is a worry

Theunamedcat · 20/07/2026 19:54

I used to love steri stumpie we cant get them anymore locally

YoQuieroVino · 20/07/2026 20:05

Well I’d never heard of a steri Stumpie so I googled it, and was informed that:

Steri Stumpie is low in fat and high in goodness, with no preservatives, making it a delicious and nutritious choice for any time of day

In which case, knock yourself out OP!

He's dumb as a box of rocks.

Are you on commission for steri stumpie ? 😁

Antisocialbunny · 20/07/2026 22:55

I suppose the question is, why does it bother him so much? It’s doing absolutely no harm to him, you enjoy it, it makes you happy, what’s the issue….Does he criticise anything else that you do? You need to nip that in the bud right now. You are a grown woman, you can drink as much milkshake as you want!
