How do I take a step with professional boundaries involved?

In need some advice

I have a major crush on someone and I think he likes me too.

Thing is he is in a job where it’s difficult to break that professional boundary. We have had many a chat where the barrier has dropped a little. If it was any other circumstance I think it would have been a bit more forward.

I have his personal number given to me by him for a legit reason.

how do I take a step??? Any suggestions

You don’t. It will all end in tears. Just find someone else, honestly.

Don't.

It's not other circumstances and he's following his professional guidelines. It could impair their professional judgement, there's a power imbalance, and this could fuck his career.

You remove yourself from his professional sphere. If you're his patient or something, you change practice.

Then if you still feel there's something there, you can ask him out.

You may be mistaking professional interest/patient care for sexual/romantic interest, however.
