Is there a difference between romance and lust?

Like how would you distinguish the two

Romance is holding hands in the sunset staring into each other’s eyes and is more emotionally-based.
Lust is shagging.

So is the effect of alcohol all lust?

Alcohol probably gets you over the lust (shagging) line more quickly.

Romance is something men do when they are in the lust stage!

One is more mental, one more physical, but romance can be very physical and lust very mental, so different aspects of love that can share traits.

1000 years ago when I met my DH there was romance, staring into each other's eyes, stroking faces, emotional connection etc which was lovely. There was also lots of lust along side the romance which was great 😁

IMO, you definitely need both for a good relationship.

I think a happy relationship has both love and lust. It's a mental and physical need combined.

Romance gives you a tummy flutter, which often leads to nothing more. Lust gives you a fanny flutter and hopefully leads to an orgasm.

Not necessarily. I'm far more able to be romantic with DP when I've had a couple of drinks. I just feel cheesy saying that stuff when I'm stone cold sober.

You can fake romance. It's harder to fake lust.

Lust is purely physical, romance is on an emotional level. Romance does not need to involve sex although it can lead to it whereas lust is all about sex. Just is about getting into someone's pants as quickly as possible Romance is the long game putting in the work with hope.
