Do some people choose careers mainly to meet potential partners?

I've never come across this in real life until now, but a woman I recently got to know wanted a job in the music industry simply so that she could meet and date musicians. It sounds a bit mad really. But do people do this?

When i qualified in 2006 I was the only man in my year, and there was even fewer of us in primary schools then there is now.

After 24 years in various roles of support ( behavioural, pastoral and SEND) in primary schools the last thing I would suggest would be that you'd meet your partner at work.

I have seen men try over the years, but you get found out pretty quick.

My friends mother told her to become a nurse so that she could meet a doctor just like she did.

Less frequent than it used to be.Women now have more choices and can be more independent re careers, earning capacity etc
But I'm.sure and know that it still goes on.
