hi so I just needed some perspectives

a guy at work who is in a higher position than me is going through a personal crisis and he told his colleague to tell me that he is sorry he can’t match my energy but he knows I will look after him. He has been off now for 2 weeks and I haven’t seen him since

what does that mean?

He probably trust you to pitch in with the workload.

trusts not trust. I don't think you should read anything else into it unless there's something you've not told us.

Option 1: he trusts you will cover his back workwise whilst he is sorting his crisis out.

Option 2: if there’s been some spark and flirting, he wants to have you as an option for a shag in the future
