Does anyone else feel intense partner irritation before their period?

Severe ick during pmt.

What do I do - I literally can’t even look at dh for a week prior to my period. I’m definitely Perimenopausal but regular cycles and hormone bloods were apparently not indicating peri (I have an appt to see a different gp as I know they shouldn’t go by bloods).

I literally can’t look at him.
cant stand him talking to me.
cant sleep in the same room.
cant eat meals with him.
everything he says pisses me off, the way he walks / breathes/ talks about work. Everything.

Ive always had this so will HRT even make a difference?

I have about 3 days in the week leading up to my period whereby I feel the same - not quite as severe admittedly but the absolute RAGE about everything. Every minor inconvenience heightens my foul mood, my life/job/relationship etc is crap (it isn't at all). Poor DH needn't bother breathing near me.

And then it lifts, and I can't get my head to logically understand why I felt so freaking furious, as it isn't my usual personality.

I am 42. I haven't been on any birth control for approx 3 years - that conversely has had an incredibly positive impact on my endo/PCOS symptoms, but my mood and PMT stuff has got 10 times worse during that very short window. I never really had PMT before, I just bled for 85% of the last 20 years... so I'll take the trade off.

Also allegedly not peri, and have no other mainstream symptoms of it yet that I am aware of...

I used to be like that too and had this weird thing where I’d want to clear the house of stuff. I’d take bags of stuff to charity shops or tip then my period would come and I’d calm down and sometimes regret it. 63 now, obvs no more periods and life is calm. Love my husband all the time unless he’s snoring.

It must be hugely common surely

Yep exactly the same. I cannot bloody stand the man! Then my period starts and I can’t wait to jump on him and kiss him and treasure him for two weeks 😅

Yep it’s so obvious he knows what’s coming!
