Perimenopause symptoms- and testosterone

Is anyone using Evorel Sequi patches to manage peri menopause symptoms but still don’t feel 100%. I have been using them for a year.

on the positive they have helped regulate my periods as I was having several bleeds a month.
it has helped manage hot flushes.

However I have ZERO libido - like no interest at all and it’s causing a huge problem with my husband who feels rejected and I also feel angry and low at times 😤
I also have brain fog … I walk to the fridge to get something - open the door stand there and walk away can’t remember what I needed?
I am also awake most night between 3am -5:30 - can’t sleep
I have researched and see some private menopause clinics in the UK prescribe testosterone gel to help. But also read side effects of that can be bad acne and excessive hair - the last thing I need is a beard and spots LOL

I personally don’t think HRT is the cure all that some make it out to be, so despite being on it I suffer with word loss and forgetfulness. I also completely lost my libido a few years ago, but I can live with that.
But for sleep I gave up alcohol, have a set bedtime routine, and take magnesium glycinate. If I’m struggling with an anxious situation, and need to sleep for work, I’ll take a drowsy antihistamine.

I felt exactly like you do and tried testorone last year. I was on it for about 9 months. It honestly made no difference at all, other than to give me bad acne, greasy hair and weight gain. I’m sure it works for some women, but I’ve stopped taking it.

You might be doing this already but quite a few lifestyle changes around this time can help alleviate the symptoms as well - less caffeine (none after midday), no/limited alcohol (and not for a few hours before bedtime), yoga/breathwork, weight/resistance training, etc. Helps especially with sleeplessness, having more energy (and possibly libido) I've also been taking Gingko Bilboa for mind fog.

Testosterone works well for me. No weight gain, no excessive hair, no skin problems, just a gradual return of my libido.

HRT is not the cure all it’s sometimes touted to be. It made a big difference to night sweats, mood, meno rage and pea soup brain fog. However my memory is still rubbish, and I haven’t slept through the night since menopause started about 7 years ago, despite fistfuls of magnesium, no alcohol etc etc. libido wasn’t ever impacted but the myriad of health issues I’ve had since menopause often make sex unappealing due to whatever ailment I’m dealing with.

I am on Evorel Conti (getting progesterone continuously) and I believe this has sorted out my sleep issues. Also, no hot flushes but libido
disappeared completely about 4 years ago (I’m 55) and I am not sure if it will ever come back! Fortunately, I am divorced/single so I have no pressure in that department but I can imagine how hard it is for you both. Can you sit down and have a talk with your DH and explain what’s happening? I am not sure how other couples get through it tbh as I have been single since menopause hit.
