How to address cheesy comments from someone I otherwise really like?

I have been seeing a new guy for around 3 months. I really like him and he is very kind, level headed and generous, he is good company and really makes me laugh too. But sometimes he is so cheesy with his words, it’s verging on giving me the ick. He says things that I’m sure he thinks is ‘cute’ out of the blue in the middle of us talking about other things and it’s as if he’s rehearsed them before saying them. I don’t want to end something over this but I’m not sure I can put up with it.
i did joke with him that he loves a cheesy one liner and he seemed genuinely surprised and nearly upset
Any ideas how I can tackle this?

Gentle moments 🤮 Nah I couldn't cope with that either, it would totally put me off.

Well the one that really put me over the edge was when he was talking about sleeping the other night because it felt quite warm and he said he would still like to cuddle (I said I’m far too warm) and he said he loves cuddling at night because it reminds me how much he likes “gentle moments together and 3am reminders that you’re mine”. I said what? Where did it get that from?

lol this made me laugh. 😆 it’s a bit odd and I wouldn’t like it either

"Dave, you sound like a D+ Hallmark card."

It's giving the verbal equivalent of Hummel figurines.

Ew.

I would die a little inside...

There is a bit in Downton Abbey where Tony Gillingham is trying to seduce Lady Mary and he says they will go out for a "scrumptious dinner" and just the word scrumptious and the way he said it made me go completely and irrevocably off of him.
Such a big ick.
