Should I move closer to one child and start again?

Just typed all this out and it’s disappeared!
I have reached a devastating and life changing decision this spring that due to all of our ongoing health issues and ages, I am not putting either of my two horses thru another winter. Each one is wetter and more miserable than the last, so it’s not fair to any of us. Those of you without horses, do not judge someone who has made massive sacrifices to keep them both well for 26 years.
it now means that I have no intention of staying in the immediate area where I have so many utterly 💔 memories.
I have 2 grown up children, 1 an hour away and 1 a further 2 hrs away. The further away one and I have only recently reconnected and as she has 2 children I’d like to be able to have a proper relationship with them. Problem is that I’m self employed so it would mean completely starting again and all the worry that that entails.
I could stay nearer and keep my clients then upset her, move 3 hrs away and see less of the other child and be desperately poor for about a year, or ……
i presently rent a 1 bed flat for myself and cat, so we are fully mobile. Would like to buy a SO flat next.
What a position to be in, it’s awful.

It sounds like you would like to move closer to your grandchildren. Have you talked to both your children about it?

Not yet to both, the other child is getting married this year and we’ve already touched on babysitting duties as her parents are 100’s of miles away.
