About 11 years ago when I was pregnant with DC2 my ex (partner not husband) said I couldn't be on the mortgage or house deeds, for a house that I had paid about 40k towards the deposit and then paid half the mortgage every month, I posted on the legal forum here and was lucky enough to get some great legal advice for free!!! from @Xenia and I put my foot down and protected my interest in the house legally and was able to buy my own house when we split up.
