Finally managed the courage to tell h we are getting a divorce (have previous threads about awful h). Need to contact a solicitor asap. Have got my documents hidden away. Anything else I could do with knowing.... Or just a friendly "you got this girl" welcome!! I'm absolutely bouncing with excitement!

Pay for an hours advice from a solicitor but you can do the actual application yourself. Go armed with all your financial information and ask loads of questions. You have to try Non Court Resolution now anyway so then book a mediator (unless you are in an abusive marriage) as it’s much cheaper and they can draw up the financial order/child arrangement order for you. Listen to divorce podcasts, do loads of research. Don’t assume it’s going to be quick or easy sadly as people change very quickly. Inform your bank/credit cards to stop any withdrawals and photograph any bank statements/pension info/savings accounts etc that they have so you know the full picture if they try to evade full disclosure. Good luck, you got this!
