So we've been together 11 yrs, he's now retired and we moved abroad 4 yrs ago which at the start seemed great, new life etc but I was the one finding work to keep us afloat, worked away from home a little which was hard. Last year I found a local job but hated it. Partner just stays at home renovating or gardening and drank a lot more. I got fed up with it after my dd went to university. I found a job back in the UK and Im back here now.
Partner just complains all the time! I cant see me going back there because I want to work and have a normal life. He doesn't want to integrate into the foreign lifestyle and I cant see the point in living there if we don't. He says he doesn't want to come back to the UK.
My animals are there and all my personal stuff.
I feel sad but I cant see us coming back together.
Should I just call it a day?

As long as you go get your animals stay here!

You’re not compatible. Go get your animals and your stuff and live the life you want in the UK. He’s not going to change.

Yes, call it a day. What other option is there if you don't want to live there with him and he doesn't want to come back to the UK?

The country and place of work can ruin relationships. Its important to view these things and see these things through at the dating stage.

We were in the UK 11 years ago when we started dating.
