Still feeling down in the dumps sometimes I often wonder why I even bother I just wish I could have some happiness in life being around people who served me not purpose in life drain the hell out of me I just don't get how when they hurt you they make you feel really rubbish about yourself they just then pretend nothing has happened and just get on with their lives not even care in the world about how you feel

Glad you’re feeling a bit better OP, it’s worth remembering that people treat us in a way that we allow. Life is too short to have draining people around you, even relatives don’t get that free pass

something2say · 30/01/2026 08:24

Hey missy! Time to shake things a bit for yourSELF.

Start working out how you can get away from people who treat you like shit.
Can you go upstairs and have a long bath?
Can you find a way to be extra late here and there, stay out, get a coffee, go somewhere?

You are a person too and you deserve happiness - and it is your responsibility to get it!

@Iamsotiredandfedup when I often feel down and in the dumps I got sit in my bedroom for a few hours and just scroll on my phone I think at the moment things just don't seem to be going right for me it just gets on my nerves how people treat you great at first and then afterwards when they have arguments with you and they don't like your response they treat you like a peasant just does my head in that's all when my daughters are at school and college I got to my local Costa Coffee and have my time there then go home tidy up and then just chill out I guess I will be okay in the end. Xx

OP, you do sound low, definitely prioritise 'you time' whenever you get the chance but also look after your mental health too. Maybe have a check up with your GP if this low mood persists. How old are you, could it be peri menopause?

Mum311023 · 30/01/2026 09:16

@Seaoftroublesi am 39. I possibly think it could be peri menopause. I get irritable very easily. My periods just pick and choose when they want to turn up I am going to see my doctor on the 11th February to see if I have endometriosis as I'm getting constant cramping pins in my lower stomach and a lower back these effects my lifestyle and my daily routine I have to take feminax for the pain and then obviously break up with my ex so yes it's all taking it's toll on me

OP it could well be peri menopause, especially as your periods are erratic and that you get irritable readily. You can get hrt on symptoms alone so do have a chat with your GP as even if you have endo it is still posdible to take hrt.
