i'm dying to see radiohead play this summer. ex (dd's dad) also loves them. he mentioned today that they are playing a festival in france and would i like to go?

People are always surprised when my dh says he think my ex is a nice guy. I am very glad we have a positive relationship still it makes co-parenting much easier!

I am pretty good mates with my ex now, in fact he has invited me to stay at his girlfriend's place in the US this summer . Wouldn't turn a hair at going to a gig with him - would't have wanted to share a tent with him even when we were together though.

I remember going to Amsterdam with an ex about a week after we split up, and that was OK (though we both smoked far too much dope to squabble). If you're sure that both of you feel the same way about rekindling/not rekindling your couplehood then go for it: it's nice to be friends with XPs, but if one of you is longing to get back together and the other is not, there will be clumsy passes made and lots of drunken snivelling.

they are all positive messages. it's only a day-long fest as well with one night stay so even if it did go belly-up we'd be home the next day.

Not weird at all. Ex-DH and I are very good friends, he's the person I always go to in a crisis, he goes drinking with DH, and if I didn't loathe Radiohead with an unreasonable passion I would go to France to see them with him. Go for it!

I get on ok with my ex most of the time, even to the point where we went out drinking together on xmas eve! However, he can be extremely irritating & although I could possibly stand a day at a gig I would have to be in a tent down the field from him I think!

Each to their own though. I suppose the only time it wouldn't be OK would be if a new OH wasn't happy with it, otherwise it's totally up to you!

i get on well with my ex, the only reason i wouldn't do this sort of thing now is because we both have new partners and i know it would make my dp uncomfortable.
But if i was single i would probably go, especially as it's only for one day. But as others have said, as long as it is as friends and neither one of you has hopes of repairing the relationship.......

I would, xP and I are both passionate about the music we like and it would be good to share gigs with him. He still wants us to get back together though so in my case, boundaries would have to be firmly drawn before we went. Neither of us have new partners, if I did I'd be going with my new partner no doubt!
