So i need some help/advice ive been friends with someone for over 10years and ive been in love with them for 9 but they dont love me they love someone else who doesnt love them and im hurting so bad just want advice on what I can do to help with my situation I just want to move on and try and date other people.

It’s time to step back from the friendship OP. You will not be able to get over this while the person is still in your life and you are holding yourself back from meeting someone who truly does love you.

I’m sorry to hear that this is painful for you. But you can’t heal whilst you’re still in contact.
I know all too well how difficult it is to still love someone who isn’t ever going to be what I want them to. You have to cut all ties. Time heals and you will feel better, just not at first. But it does happen.

From experience, someone can be a fantastic friend, but a terrible partner. It always seems like a good idea at the time, but it doesn't always play out that way. Can you try to focus your attention elsewhere? Spend time doing hobbies as a distraction? I wish you luck
