I have decided I want to leave my partner. Please help with the logistics - how do we even start? We have a young child together.

Just for context, we are unmarried, own a house together. I earn just over £50,000 and have £34,000 equity in my house.

Start at the solicitors.

And before you let him know anything, make sure your own money is in your own bank account. If there is a joint then take out what you paid in. Or half if you are not sure (the divorce may mean some good back of course but, just make sure you have what you need).

Too many women go to leave only to find ges drained the accounts out of spite or to manipulate.
