What are the hardest "firsts" in a new relationship?

For example first time you meet their parents or first Christmas together that sort of thing.

When you can't keep your fart in.

Never bothered trying to do that. Just let rip!!

First argument. Meeting the parents. First bout of illness. First fart 🫣😂

The first time they get really, properly, scarily ill.

First fart 😂 my DP joked that he had bad tummy aches for the first two weeks or so as he was holding them in 😂
Honestly, nothing has really bothered me this time around, I think now im 40 I dont care as much....the only thing I was really thinking a lot about was him meeting my children but that wasnt just a one off thing obviously then its done, it takes time to build a bond and ive known friends where they've reached this step and its not worked out. Thankfully I had nothing to worry about

When they let you down. Not necessarily through choice, just by being a real human. Letting go of the romantic ideals you might hold of who you hoped they were and readjusting to who they actually are. Just as flawed as ourselves.

Even on a first date?!

First big horrid life event like a redunancy, family member getting very ill/dying, etc.

The last one of those was 30 odd years ago and we knew each other already.

It wasn’t a scary, dire medical situation, but DH and I shared the fist bout of illness only a few months into our relationship….very much still in the honeymoon phase and we both came down with a hideous stomach bug 🫣🫣 Listening to eachother vomit and shit for 24hrs in my tiny 2-up-2-down with one bathroom when we’d only been dating a few months was an experience 😂
