Dating someone long distance over a year, it’s terrible but I feel trauma bonded and really struggling to break it off. He also won’t leave me alone when I try and I end up relenting everytime.

me left a bad skid mark on bed sheet, I walked into the bathroom and his boxers had really bad skid marks. His personal hygiene is terrible and yet this still isn’t enough for me to be able to walk away. How do I get out of this?

Ohhh my dayyysss. You don't even have to go into the reasons why. You can just say you don't want to be in the relationship any more. End, stop. You're worth more than that. Fair enough of the dude had medical reasons and you were in love. You wouldn't like it but you'd make it work. This is pure laziness on his part and you don't have to be with him.

You’re long distance, you don’t live together, it’s only been a year - it’s easier to end it than for others stuck in the same home with kids involved,

Tell him it’s not working for you and don’t entertain any discussion with him. If he won’t leave it, block him on every communication channel

Three steps:

  • text him that it's over
  • immediately block him on your phone and SM
  • delete him phone number so that you are not tempted to contact him again

Bonus step - consider how you ended up in this relationship, what last experiences led to this, how you are going to prevent it happening in the future. Therapy may be very helpful here.
