I am so upset. An acquaintance has been causing trouble between me and my friend of over 20 years. He has been making up lies between the pair of us to cause trouble. He has gossiped about other friends of his to me. I saw my friend today and she told me all this stuff he had said and I know he has and we both cried he tried to destroy our friendship.
I rang this guy while I was with my friend and he went quiet on the phone and lied and said he hadn’t said anything. Even though the other day he said in a message he was sorry he had been lying. I had a go at him and he says I have been ignoring him because he kept harassing me multiple times. I told him my friend is not interested in dating him as he harasses her.
I rang my partner as I was so upset and he spoke to my friend as he full well knew this guy was trying to cause trouble and then pretend to help up make up.
I have blocked this guy now and don’t ever want to speak to him again. He is 46 and all he ever does is gossips about everyone’s business and drains people. He used to send me screenshots of people’s private messages which I didn’t need to know. I have since been told this is against the law to be sending. I should have been more assertive and called him out and blocked him ages ago but he had domestic abuse off his parents so I didn’t want to be nasty.
I feel so angry and sad that someone would try and destroy a good friendship I have had for so many years. I tried to be a good friend to him and he just harassed me all the time. He even harassed his sister while she was abroad on holiday moaning all the time. I have blocked him now and will never speak to him again. He just seems bitter everyone else is happy.
