Confused about fb dating

So yesterday I was lying in bed with my husband and we were scrolling on his phone, the fb dating icon was in the shortcut bar and had 2 notifications on it. I really trust my husband, and I don't think he'd be on dating apps, but this obviously raises some suspicions. I've read many threads saying people who didn't have an account on the dating site would get notifications on the heart emoji of facebook dating because it's a way to get people curious and get them to sign up, and tbh, his fb account has 40 friends, 2 photos, and we just got married... we're 22 and fb dating is usually an app for older people than us... so I really think it's one of those scenarios like I saw on prebvious threads, but I was just looking for some reassurance. I didn't bring it up to him because I really doubt he's using it.

So you think you know it's nothing and don't feel the need to speak to him about it. All good then.

We can't tell you if he's genuinely used it or not. You know him and think not so that's fine.

Ask him. If you're sure he's not using it to meet other women, then you can laugh about your paranoia together.

I have fb and while on my screen it shows that there is an option to go into the dating app I have never once gotten a notification, a heart or anything on it.

He doesn't actively get notifications; there's like a "2" on top of the icon if that makes sense

FB dating has to be signed up to separately to your main FB profile so you would only get notifications if you have an active dating profile.

Click on the heart and see what the notifications are - you’ll get your answer then

You have to sign up to it to get notifications on the toolbar at the bottom. When I disabled my account it disappeared. He’s set up a dating profile on there. No other way to get notifications, it doesn’t happen by accident.

Yep. I had a brief foray into fb dating. Since I deleted my profile I’ve not had a single notification.

You need an active dating profile to get notifications and it’s usually someone has liked you.

I'm gonna ask him and update y'all. I saw somebody say sometimes something like this can happen, but we'll see what he says.

You definitely don’t get notifications unless you’ve signed up to it because there’s nothing to notify you about. You might get a normal notification through your regular profile to say “why not sign up?” But specifically on top of the dating app picture would only be because he’s signed up and receiving likes or messages through there.

I have received notifications from it in the past, I’ve never signed up to it. People on your friends list can send some sort of “secret crush” notification, but to find out who it is you have to sign up to it and match with them.
