It was my birthday yesterday and I found out that my ex was taking his DDs to a place that we had always talked about going to last night. He owes me a lot of money and comes back to me from time to time.
But now I just feel destroyed. I won't let him back to me again. He has now hurts me way too much. I don't know what I want any one to say other than I should never let him back. He comes back, we have a wonderful time together, then we talk for a couple days and then he turns on me in a nasty way.

So stop taking him back. Think about what you want from life - going out with friends, taking up new hobbies or exercise classes, volunteering - do whatever you can to keep busy and bring some happiness into your life. Only you can make the change.

He comes back to me! You allow him to use you.

Stop entertaining him.

Your username is apt @Headmessedagain . Him taking his daughters to the place you wanted to go was precisely to hurt and upset you. It was his 'fuck you' to you. And if you take him back again after that he will treat you even more badly than he has already.

Start taking your control back, stop being interested in what he is doing with whom (that can take a lot of willpower but it is worth it) and do things for yourself that will take your mind off him. It will probably take a while but you have to actively work at it.

He will do if you keep entertaining him, he’s walking all over you. Stay strong this time!

Headmessedagain · 24/11/2025 17:35

I know - I have blocked him. He owes me money but I should just write it off. It is not an insignificant amount as I helped him to buy his car last year.

I had burnout from work and then the split with him on top and I was devastated. I have been off for 4 months and must go back to work tomorrow as social security will not pay my sick leave anymore (not in UK) they said I was only off sick to find another job. I don't know where they got that idea from.

Good luck back at work tomorrow. Will be tiring the first couple of weeks. Focus on just getting plenty of rest when at home, looking after yourself and keeping your energy levels up at work. Ride out the first couple of weeks with just focus on work, then once it becomes the new normal, you will start to feel stronger for not having had any contact with him and now having a routine back in your life.
This guy is a user, you deserve more.
Time to prioritise you now 💕
